DENVER – The Churchill Cup will take place in Colorado this summer, marking the first time North America’s premier XV-a-side rugby tournament has been staged solely in the United States.

This year will see the USA Eagles, Canada, England Saxons, Ireland A, Argentina Jaguars and Georgia play doubleheaders at Infinity Park in Glendale – the first municipally-owned rugby-specific stadium in North America – on June 6, 10 and 14.

Delegates at Sportaccord will be presented with bags that aren’t just trendy and functional, but have a special environmental appeal as well. A local company from Boulder, Ecologic Designs, takes recycling and reuse to new levels.

Denver, Colo. – Andre Agassi, former number one professional tennis player, eight-time Grand Slam and Olympic Gold medal winner, will join the impressive list of speakers confirmed for Sportaccord 2009 from March 23-27 in Denver, Colo.

With Sportaccord taking place in the Americas for the first time, another first and highlight of the conference program will be a panel on the topic of Sport & Philanthropy – The Value of Giving Back.

NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four to be held in Denver in 2012

DENVER, Colo. – The NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee announced today that Denver will be the host city of the 2012 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Final Four. It marks the first time Denver will serve as host of the event.

The event will be held in April 2012, at Pepsi Center, with the tournament games scheduled for April 1 and 3. In conjunction with the Women’s Final Four, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association conference will be held at the Denver Convention Center. Denver will realize an estimated 30 million dollars in economic development during the championship weekend.
